A few simple principles for infections

Find the cause first. A fever or infection has a reason, and the right treatment starts with a history, an examination and, when needed, tests and cultures.

Do not take antibiotics on your own and do not stop them halfway. Not every fever needs them, and stopping early is not right either.

Follow-up and prevention are part of treatment: knowing the warning signs, protecting those around you and preparing before travel.
